New Ads Manager & Business Manager Announced

Facebook have announced that 2019 will be the year that sees a brand-new Ad interface introduced. Earlier this month, they started testing the new Ads Manager interface. This new design has simplified navigation, a cleaner design and improved campaign management thanks to easier-to-access reporting.

The way we create campaigns is also getting a well overdue spruce up, with a new quick duplicate feature that will half the time it takes to create new ad sets.

One of the most interesting new additions is the auto-naming feature so that you don’t need to come up with your own campaign names. Although, how customisable this will be is still unknown.

As for the Business Manager, one of the biggest updates will come in the next few months and involve an improved, faster, and seamless process that will make it easy for agencies to onboard new clients. This will make it easier for them to access historical reporting and more efficiently run their clients’ ad campaigns.

New Cost Cap Bidding

For the first time in a while, Facebook are introducing a new bidding strategy, focusing on maximising conversion volume while maintaining cost predictability. Cost Cap Bidding is about getting the most bang for your buck with Facebook ads.

Standard Bid cap, on the other hand, will be best when you need to set a strict limit on how high you are willing to bid, and target cost is the right choice when you want to keep costs consistent at scale.

New Steps Taken to Manage Problematic Content

Everyone is aware of the issues that Facebook has been hit with in recent months. Facebook wants to put a stop to it, and they’ve recently committed to working hard to clean up users’ feeds. This means giving precedence to content from trusted sources and throttling untrustworthy or malicious content.

They are also testing adding trust indicators next to shared news, this will give users an indication of how other Facebook users have interacted with the content. This will in turn reduce the reach that these providers get when they post news or ads.
